"Since the possibilities for happy and productive lives are largely opened up for youth by the quality and extent of their education, parents who work most effectively at providing their offspring with what it takes to lead flourishing lives take education very seriously."

School Profile

Established in 1981, RCS is a non-denominational, parent supported school which currently includes grades K-8.  The school purchased and moved into its present building, the former Valley Elementary School, in August 2003.  Enrollment for the 2002-03 school year is 80 students.  RCS meets all standards prescribed by the Minnesota Department of Public Instruction and offers those subjects commonly taught at the kindergarten, elementary and middle school levels.  The school is staffed by qualified, state certified teachers and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

Mission Statement

The mission of RCS is to assist families in providing a Christ centered, Bible based education that will inspire students to pursue academic excellence and to mature spiritually, physically, and socially.

Purpose Statement

The academic programs of RCS are only a part of the educational process.  The school presents a Bible centered philosophy of education that places Christ at the center of all things.  Academically, RCS will aspire to maintain high scholastic standards.  The school will promote man's stewardship role.  We believe that classroom methods should be teacher directed (Deut 6:7), with the student acquiring knowledge through studying, researching, reasoning and relating.  To carry out these objectives, only Minnesota certified teachers who agree with RCS's philosophy of education will be employed.

Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God (II Tim 3:15, II Peter 1:21).
2.  We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Gen 1:1, Matt 28:19, John 10:30).
3.  We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Is 7:14, Matt 1:23, Luke 1:35); His sinless life (Heb 4:15, Heb 7:26); His mercies (John 2:11); His vicarious and atoning death (I Cor 15:3, Eph 1:7, Heb 2:9); His resurrection (John 11:25, I Cor 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of God the Father (Mark 16:19); His present reign and His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Rev 19:11).
4.  We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature; that men are justified on single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ; that only by God's grace and through faith alone are we saved (John 3:16-19, John 5:24, Rom 3:23, Eph 2:8-10, Titus 3:5).
5. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto eternal death (John 5:28-29).
6. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom 8:9, I Cor 12:12-13, Gal 3: 26-28).
7. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Rom 8: 13-14, I Cor 3:16, I Cor 6: 19-20, Eph 4:30, Eph 5:18).
